Iraq captives plead for help; minister insists helplessness

13 Nepalis taken hostage by an Iraqi militant group have requested the government to help in their release.
"I am in the captivity of terrorists and this could be my final voice. My message to my family and the Nepal government is that please do something for our release and punish the agents who sent us here," Prakash Adhikari of Topgachhi, Jhapa said in a video footage aired in Nepali TV channels Wednesday evening.
12 other captives also made similar statements, calling on the Nepal government and their families to take initiatives for their release.
The videotape was made available to Nepal government by Qatar-based al Jazeera TV that first showed the pictures of Nepali hostages.
While being videotaped, the captives, with passports in their hands, were seen surrounded by masked gunmen. They repeatedly mentioned a name - Prahlad Giri, an agent of Moonlight Manpower Consultancy that sent them to Iraq whereas they were promised of jobs in Jordan. According to them, a Jordanian manpower company assisted them to enter Iraq.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Labor and Transport Management Urba Dutta Pant today said in an interview with a private TV channel that the government could do very little as the Nepalis entered Iraq illegally.
"They did not ask the government before going to Iraq where labor permit is not issued. The government has no responsibility in this case but it will still try to help them realizing the duty towards its citizens," he said.

What an excuse for these idiots at Ministry, as if they never have done anything illegal. The utmost priority lies on rescuing these men. Thus, first at least try to rescue these captives in need and then later, in leisure, sort out the legal and illegal matters.

is there any other way to relay these formats up to the president of united states.cuz as we have learned that from our political recruiters who ever is being posted to these matter is not responding in full active personal as these american does to their citizen.
as i see our counrty having lack of un professional and un educated personell who ever is been appointed to the politician (parliament)to plead for the releas of our own citizens at any cost. lets see how this politician will act in this case to resolve this matter.if they will prove them self who ever will be appointed to resolve this case ,then only we can count to this indivisual as a politician as a citizen as a human as a hero by saving the life of those citizen not only them not to mention those who are awaiting back home their
family for whom they flew to jordan to support their family.

Nepali destitues, even the public back home is unmoved by the plight of those unlucky. Not concerned by the fate are those who are lining up again to join the same route may be it is worth to take the chance than to die in poverty. It reminds me of the scene of zebra and wild cows crossing the corcodile infested rivers to be oin the greener pasture on the otherside.

Oh! captors of our unlucky brothers, beg release them they only came in search of livelihood. We can understand your feelings and hatred but targetting our innocent brothers will never serve your purpose.

What did I tell you guys about Nepalis suck, perfect example.

I wonder what the fate is going to be of these nepali hostages. But i am kind of mad with the Iraqi's for taking anyone as hostage. I mean we did not even participate in that freaking war, nor have we done anything to piss them off... What is their purpose? or has it become a norm for them? There should be a reason for every action and this action of theirs does not prove anything.

Talking about nepal.... afno to mood nai kharab huncha. It is such a small country but still it has not been able to do anything due to the corruption, gunda gardi and ofcourse people who have power but no brains, of feelings of humanity.
