During 2016 primaries, there was an outright attempt by media to dismiss Bernie Sanders which led me to do some research on the media owners.
Interestingly I found that most stocks of the media were owned by these three groups.
These three institutions continue to hold major portions of all big stocks in the world. Blackrock and Vanguard hold over 12.5 TRILLION dollars worth of assets. With Blackrock being a key investor in the defense industry and Vanguard being key investor in healthcare, pharmaceutical, insurance & education - ie with collaboration with Harvard (Harvard Vanguard), these two corporations alone pretty much control the world.
You can easily check the ownership data of any big companies in the nasdaq website (example disney): https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/dis/institutional-holdings
It was interesting to see globally acclaimed Vandana Shiva make a speech about these companies and how they are in control of world economies. Highly recommended watch.
