She was waiting with all her might just to cross the road, to hug him. It was mere few days they have been apart but for her it felt like ages. She was waiting in the light to cross it, seeing him across the street, she felt like running to him, but she held back with all her might.
The traffic light was taking forever to change that day.
She longed to have a sniff of his perfume, a feeling of his arm around her and her ears listening to the rhythmic beating of his heart. The distance between them must have been of few meters, few minutes or mere few steps but it felt like they were distant by seven oceans. They could not take their eyes off each other.
With his crisp white shirt, denim pants, short hair, light beard, and his specs he was the most handsomest man she have ever encountered.
The lights finally changed.
She decided to run to him, so she signaled him to wait. He did not see her signal; he was running with the crowd. She ran towards him but aghast he ran through her.
She froze, her eyes welled up and inadvertently her legs gave up on her. She fell on the ground, she looked up and shouted his name, he did not hear or pretend not to hear.
The lights changed quickly, she did not care anymore. She stayed there like a pelican statue in the middle of the road watching him walk away farther and farther, until he became a dot in the picture.
