Greetings!!
I'm working on OPT and I just had my H1B approved starting Oct 2013. I need to go visit Nepal in November for some family affairs . I want to have my visa stamped in Canada before I go home and I'm kinda unsure about the whole process. Here are some sitautions relevant to me and I would really appreciate it if someone would help me with their valuable suggestions and or share their experiences.

1) My F-1 visa is no longer valid but  I do have my I-20 with OPT extension until H1B starts in October.Is that a roadblock?
2) What do I do to get Canadian visa now so that I can be ready for the trip around October ?
3) I work as a IT specialist under EVC model. What are the documents that I need to present to the consular office ?
4) Some people advised me to wait 4-5 months after my H1B starts but I really have to visit Nepal in November and I don't really see an option.
Thank you so much!!

 @datkymguy
I am in same situation. The only difference is I have been working in OPT for 2 years (under STEM OPT extension). I filed for my H1B this year only and I am going to Nepal in OCtober and do my stamping. I do not any reason why we will not get visa. I work for a small IT firm and I work as a full time employee not a consultant.

Bro since I'm on EVC, I believe going to Canada would be a better option for me . There is no guarantee as such but the processing time is far quick if I get a 221(g) compared to that in Nepal. It's taking a chance either way. Good luck on your stamping . Do you know what documents are required for the stamping  by any chance ?

 Hey guys,

I just went thru the same process. I went got my visa and i am here now. But I don't know if its a safe bet to go right away. I went there after 8 monhts. Getting candian visa is prety simple, but you have to do it way ahead of time. It might take upto 4 weeks to get canadian visa.

About US visa, you might wanna try going to calgary consulate. They are really easy going. And they don't even ask much quesiton. I got visa despite they finding that I sold beer to minor when I was still in student visa. I hope this helps
